I’ll be doing reviews for every show from here on out so here it is. This ones a bit shorter because I entered it in a contest for AP Magazine. Have at it!
Recently coming through the Midwest was The Revolutions and Resolutions Tour. This show was a definite [5/5]. Kicking off the night at The Subterranean in Chicago, Illinois was The Right Coast, an up and coming band from Lancaster, PA. To anyone’s surprise, they are still unsigned, but not for long. Brandon (Vocals), Curran (Drums), Eric (Bass), and John (Guitar) are just beginning to show what they are really made of. With plans to lock themselves away for a solid week to write after this tour ends, you can expect to see them back in full force for the rest of 2010. Second on the line up was Sparks The Recue, signed to Fearless Records. These guys definitely know how to put on a great show. They connect to their audience no matter how big or small. At one point, Alex, the lead vocalist got so into his performance he even fell backwards, but still managed to belt out the lyrics just as well. You can expect to see them on more and more upcoming tours and quite possibly as a headliner sooner than later. Next to perform was The Dangerous Summer who is currently signed with Hopeless Records. If there were an award for best in show, the members of TDS would win, hands down. Talking with AJ after his set, I asked how this tour was going for him so far. His answer, “I’m living the dream.” The boys have not announced anything for the upcoming months yet, but knowing them, they probably have something up their sleeve that will surprise everyone. Rounding out the night was The Audition. With a couple of headliners under their belts, they really know how to finish out a show. Needless to say, the bands on this tour really complimented each other and brought something different and exciting to the stage with every set change.
